Bad Timing
The problem with being sick at the same time as hubby is I don't get to wallow in chick flicks while getting better. He's finally dragged out of the house this afternoon so I'm going to try to work in something sappy before he gets back.

Note to fans of Moulin Rouge - try Idlewild. It's a black rap and blues movie with similar plot, film style, and dance scenes. Quite good.

I left the house for one hour today because I had a mammogram appointment and it was near the house (thus one hour total including the mammogram). I wonder, are you REQUIRED to be a masochist to be a mammogram tech, or is it optional?

Books: Three Days to Never (one chapter left)

Movies: Iron Giant/Ice Pirates/Space Hunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone/Idlewild

Soundtrack: You are my home

I always thought of mammogram techs as sadists, but I am guessing you are just really out of it right now. Hope you feel better soon - and shouldn't hubby be feeling well enough to ceremonially hand over the remote (for chick flicks) soon?

Boy don't I wish! He's only doing a little better than I am. His flu was way bad plus the ear infection. Also his antibiotics are making him queasy.

It's my impression that ALL sorts of medical imaging techs are sadists..

Experiences:

Turned ankle just before Thanksgiving trip on a curb.. Emergency room trip and X-Rays.. Bend, bend, bend... "Ouch!!" "Ouch marks the spot!" cheerfully chirps the X-ray tech.

2 Total MRI scans on my neck.. You're laid on a hard, narrow slab with a goalie mask over your face and told not to move.. THEN, you're wheeled into a narrow, darkish tube where you are subjected to many loud clicks, whirs and jack-hammer-like sounds right next to your head.. Oh yeah!! Don't move, try not even to breath!

Sadists!

We've discovered a couple of really fun, quirky films from the Gay/Lesbian culture. "Debs" and "Even cowgirls get the blues". Both chick flicks of an alternate nature.

I think for the techs any sort of enjoyment of the pain is optional (but it would probably make their day go by more quickly).

Thank you for reminding me that it's time to squish the girls again!
